Which direction do I adjust my ARMS #40 if I need to move the POI to the right?

There will be an arrow on the side of hte adjustment with an "R". Turn the dial in that direction to move the bullet right, turn it the opposite direction to move it left.

Well my ARMS #40 must be retarded.

If I turn the knob in the direction the arrow tells me, (R = Right) the aperture moves to the left and so accordingly does the bullet.

Is this a known issue with this sight or is mine defective.

the aperture should move left for moving the shot to the right.  (oppisate for which way you want the shot to move down range.)

Wrong.... minus five

You move the rear sight in the direction you want the bullet to move.
You move the front sight in the opposite direction you want the bullet to move.

My question pertains to my particular ARMS#40 sight knob markings.

Gee, let me see, I pay $100 for a sight and the knob markings are incorrect.
Like you wouldn't bitch if it was your sight.

The ARMS #40 I have is an older model with the A2 knob, I would assume the new ones are correct.
It is a great sight.

It isn't a big deal because it's just a BUIS. You will not be using the windage adjustment after you have the gun zeroed.

Did you install the sight backwards? (i.e. so it springs toward you instead of away from you).

BTDT.  I deliberately installed mine backward when I had it on the front of my receiver (so I could mount my TA50-2 as far back as possible).

Current (with LaRue Mount):


It was the first thing I noticed when I went to zero it.

But thanks to LaRue Tactical I can now have my ARMS #40 (soon to be a KAC 600M) mounted at the rear of the receiver as the TA50-2 sits further back in the LaRue mount.

FWIW,

My ARMS 38 is marked with the R and arrow pointing to the counter clock wise as you look at it from the left side of the receiver.  When I rotate it counter clock wise, in the direction of the R, the sight moves to the right, like it should.

Do I move the aperature in the direction I want the POI to hit, or the opposite direction?

The rear aperature should move IN THE DIRECTION you want to move to the impact to.

So if you hit  LEFT you move the aperature RIGHT.
