I am looking at a DD 9.0 for my new upper... How does it mount?? Does it mount like handguards or more like an ARMS SIR system?

Neither. It requires the removal of the FSB and the barrel nut. The DD rail come with an aluminum barrel nut that replaces the stock steel one.
