Is there a way to get the stock off the buffer tube? Or is this a stupid idea and should not be done?

full stock - remove top screw at buttplate.

oops... missed "telestock"...

should be able to pull the adjust lever down then at the same time, pull the stock off.

now, if it's a "fixed" tele... you may be SOL, unless you can find the roll pin and push it out somehow.

If it is a fixed telestock, then you are pretty much SOL.

But there is hope, IIRC ADCO has a package to convert a fixed telestock to a collapsible one.  If I were you, I would contact Steve at [email protected].

No, it's an adjustable one... just bought this rifle yesterday.

By "pull the lever down," do you mean the same way you adjust it, or a different way?

No.

Grab the ENTIRE LEVER ASSEMBLY and pull it away from the stock.  This will give you enough clearance to get the locking pin past the lip of the buffer tube that keeps the stock from coming off.

to adjust the stock you squeeze the lever..

but to remove the stock, grap the middle of the lever and pull it straight down, then pull the stock off.
