Link Believe or not I didn't hear about this untila few weeks ago. I knew there was talk about the project, but the last time I heard they were deciding on the design. I kind of think that they should have gone with two towers, but whatever... Consider this my 9/11 remembrance post...

from CNN: The tower, to be a centerpiece of the rebuilding plan for the World Trade Center site, is to rise 1,776 feet -- a nod to the year the United States declared its independence. The History Channel had a segment on this a couple of days ago. I think they said the grand opening would be by 2010, so we'll have ~ 2 years to enjoy it before the end of the world in 2012. hock.gif |
