I loved when the NRA spokesperson reminded Koppel that there are more "assault weapons" out there now than when the ban was passed and crime is dropping. Of course Ted's answer was to again say "Isn't 27000 gun deaths a year an important reason to pass this ban". Also, he did a good job explaining the ban and the weapons it didn't cover in his introduction. That way later when he said "The reason it didn't work is because it wasn't a good enough ban" he thought he wouldn't look like an idiot. Common sense is not in these peoples vocabulary! |
