I getting ready to order a Aimpoint for my M4gery.  Which mount do you guys mostly use?  What do you think works the best?  I plan on using a BUIS also.

I'm new to the Aimpoints so I have no idea what the best mount to use would be.......

I have the KAC offset mount, I got it for the looks and its forward mounting position.  My AN/PVS14 should be here in a few days, it'd be perfect for the '14

I like the BUIS to be out of the way, I went with the then lowest folding BUIS, KAC 300M.  The ARMS #40L folds pretty flat too.

on my flat top I have the GG&G A2 flip up sight, GG&G scout lenght rail and tha actual aimpoint ring.  everything co-witnesses perfectly.  Aimpoint ring is not hard to find but it isn't big, bulky and expensive so most of these guys here don't think it works good.  Brownells has it. $15

Does LaRue make a mout low enough to go the the bridge of the RAS II?  And will still be able to co whitness?

got this pic off Aimpoint's site. what kind of mount is this. I've seen a close-up of this pic in some of my magazines and I believe I see "ARMS Tri-lock". also, what type of BUIS is that? It doesn't appear to be an ARMS #40. fill me in please. what's the scoop on this Aimpoint mount b/c it looks very solid?

I'm a huge fan of the GGG cantilever mount.

I think it fits the lines of the AR15 the best of all the cantilever mounts, and is just as good too functionally speaking (comparing b/t KAC and ARMS with cantilever spacer).  Plus, it holds a spare battery for your aimpoint.  Not many area's with slopes on AR's.  Thats why I love the "one peice of metal on top of the other" look of the GGG.

Holds zero GREAT.  Re-zero's/remounts just as well.  Only catch is, its expensive as all hell.  Find one used, thats what I did.  130 ish for the mount.

that full spacer threw me off. It all looked like one piece in the pic. as far as the ARMS #40, I guess it looked different because I'm used to seeing my mounted flush behind my SIR #45. thanks for the info.

Another +1 for the GG&G Cantilever Mount. I currently have 2 GG&G Cantilever mounts, 1 GG&G Std Mount and 1 Knight's Armament Offset Mount. I have to pair down the collection to two, so both of the GG&G Cantilever mounts are staying. The others are great, but I really like the GG&G mounts.
ARMS #40 for rear BUIS, PRI for fronts.

LaRue Aimpoint mount and LaRue BUIS.  There is nothing else to consider.  Also, if you really want a cantilever then you will have to wait a little bit longer until LaRue puts theirs out.  In the words of Mark LaRue he is just "waiting for a window" to put the cantilever option out.

I personally like the LaRue Tactical Aimpoint mount the best. Here are the reasons why:

Adjustable QD throw levers (this means that it will fit on ANY out of spec rail).
Full cleats on the bottom of the mount to lock into the rail
Heat treated SS TORX screws that will NOT scrip out

LaRue is the only way to fly for an Aimpoint mount or a fixed BUIS.

I prefer the KAC offset mount.  Had the ARMS 22M68, got rid of it.  Waiting for for a LARUE offset.

I  have tried a few differnt mounts, but  liked the tilt forward  mount the best.

How does the LaRue cowitness? What I mean is where is the front sight post in relation to the dot in the aimpoint reticle?

Thanks,

I have two Aimpoints and two mounts...  one is in a KAC cantilever mount (like on most of the pics in this thread).  It's very simple, light, clean-looking and easy to mount.  The downside is that it doesn't "lock" into place like the LaRue and ARMS mounts.  The other Aimpoint is on an ARMS mount - 22M68 - with a cantilever spacer.  I like the ARMS one the best because of how it attaches, and the fact that it's essentially two mounts in one (since the cantilever spacer and be removed).  It cost me $124 shipped, brand new.
