| There are so many. Bushmaster, CMT, Stag, Rock River, etc. Recommendation on which to buy for the future? Thanks |
|
Ameetec if you are looking for an excellant lower at an excellant price. Bushmaster if you want an excellant lower at a much higher price but may be worth it for resale value later. I can not recomend Colt because of their inflated price and non standard fire control pins. All the other ones out there fall somewhere in the middle IMHO |
| i'm going to take the advice of the posters here when i asked the same question and get a RRA lower and a Bushy upper. for the same stuff (lower with NM trigger) RRA is about $350 while Bushy will cost you $440. same material, comparable craftmanship. but almost $100 cheaper. |
-1... They are not availible currently (new anyway) -1 more... Because their last batch had some serious QA issues and they only took care of the ones that were seriously out of spec. People who got lowers that were milled off center but within their "spec" were told to deal with it. |
Well considering Stag lowers are milled by the same people and to the same spec as RRA lowers, Their fit should be similar. Milling is not an exact science. Add that to that fact that they are milled to be tight and you will end up with some being so tight that you will not get your upper installed without taking a file to it. Upper receiver specs play into that as well and it seems that BM uppers tend to have the most issues with RRA\Stag lowers. |

The Ameetec lowers were 85 (I think) or 80 if you order 3. THey have been getting good reviews so far. Ameetec seems to have them all on sale now. Check EE here; ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=7&f=21&t=211351 As for thr RRA, I have had good luck, put a couple of bushy uppers on them, and yes they are tight, like rubber mallet tight the first few times, but I like it, as it loosens up (still firm) but no rattles. Very good fit after a few breakdowns. I have heard a few worse stories than mine though. Hope you have good luck whatever you choose. |
