Just a little story.... I shoot in a big bore summer league, I usually shoot my Springfeild M1A but this past Sunday I decided to shoot my pre-ban Colt Match HBAR. I got some stares and I heard a few little comments. In CT. pre-ban AR-15's don't come out to often because of our Communist assault weapon ban we have here. People in CT that owned a "assault" weapon when the ban went into effect had a certain time limit to register that weapon with the local authorities in your town even if it was bought brand new (like mine) at a gun shop. If you did'nt register it by the cutoff date and you get caught with it in public, like at your local range or match, CT. considers it to be a felony and your gun to be forefit. That means they take your damn gun and arrest you, for somehting you bought legally! What's wrong with this picture? Well anyway that's why you don't see too many pre-ban AR's at play in CT. Mine is registered and my buddies bust my stones about doing that.......but atleast I can take mine out of my house and enjoy it. |

Rocky, You have my sympathies. The CT law was one of the reasons I moved to ME in '91. And it's not gonna sunset in Sept. The worst part is that NFA select fire weapons must be modified to allow FA only. I'd love to meet the moron that made that interpretation stick. CT is no better than MA or the peoples republic of Kalifornia. Was visiting in NW CT last weekend. Stopped in at one of my old haunts (gun dealer). He's kinda depressed. Up here when I bring out something NFA folks are dying to try it. Maybe I'll shoot a 16 in my backyard today in your honor. Sam |
| Sounds like the same laws as the PRK. They say probably about 85% of all the evil assault weapon owners did not register them. I see the evil black rifles at the range all the time, and I would bet that most of the ones I see are not registered. I do think that if they start cracking down at the gun ranges that the gun ranges will lose most if not all their busness, and it would bankrupt them. |
