Well after considering which model I should get I went out and bought myself a AR15.  Its a Bushmaster XM15 E2S Shorty A3.  Didn't get to fire many rounds today, only fired 40 total, going to try to get out sometime this week.  So here are some questions.  The upper seems a little loose, I think this is normal but am unsure?  Didn't feel loose when I bought it, but when I removed the upper and put it back on it seemed to be loose.  How do I sight the rifle in?  I remember seeing a link to a site for this but lost it.  Is there any break in time for the rifle and how many rounds?  I have a extra scope that I am thinking of mounting on the flat top, what type of rings should I use?  Also has anyone noticed any loss of zero when they remove the carry handle and then remount it?  Thanks in advance.

No break in with chrome lined barrels. Shoot a couple hundred, and that's your break in.

There is a small orange rubber device you can buy to place inside the back of your lower to tighten up your rifle.  For the life of me I can't think what it's called.    Accu-wedge maybe?

Tell you why I dont like the accuwedge.Yes it improves"Feel" but it also is pushing the receivers apart puting stress on the rear take down pin.The military does not use them why?because if they were relevant they would be.The AR is patented after a combat rifle wich needs to be user friendly for take down and cleaning the wedge is just another unnecessary part that will not improve accuracy.Contrary to popular beleif a tight upper and lower fit does nothing for accuracy.

You will probably have to re-zero your scope if you remove the handle and put it back on....depends on what kind of groups you are looking for....if you want MOA groups at 100 meters, then you gotta re-zero....if you need center mass at 50, you should be fine without to much adjustment.

If the upper is a little loose try the accu-wedge thing, they are like $5. A little loose is normal, but the wedge keeps it pretty tight.

The proper break in for your rifle is as follows.....

Step 1 - Buy lots of ammo.....bring lots of targets.......load rifle..shoot till empty...repeat.
Step 2 - When you run out of ammo, buy more......repeat step one.

Enjoy the new rifle!
