I'm looking to replace the plastic trigger guards on my rifles with the metal ones that Colt uses.  I know that SAW Sales has them but they require a minimum $50 purchase (I only need two).  Does anyone else sell misc. Colt parts that would have these?  I'm also looking for Colt factory A2 pistol grips but that is secondary to the metal trigger guards.  Thanks for the help.

The trigger guard isn't exactly a low tolerance part so I'm not sure why you'd want 'Colt'.  Just order a metal guard from any reputable maker and you'll never know the difference.  BTW, the plastic version does have a theoretical advantage over the metal one.

I guess I was just assuming that Colt was the only one who made them being as I have never seen them on anything but Colt rifles.  Can you tell me who else besides Colt sells the metal trigger guard assemblies?  Thanks for the help.

Go to the "Industry" section and scroll down to the guys who sell parts, then take your pick

As far as I know, Bushmaster is the only manufacturer who is installing these plastic POS trigger guards, tho I guess the list might have expanded by now.  Anyway, the metal trigger guard is still the industry standard.  The BS justification for using these plastic junk parts is that if the trigger guard gor hit with something hard enough to bend a metal TG, it would tie up the trigger and make the piece unusable; and in such a case, the plastic piece would simply break.

What the apologists for plastic conveniently overlook is that the trigger guard is hinged, and you would simply unhook the front end and hinge it down if a metal unit did in fact hang the trigger.

Suffice it to say that the military has never adopted the plastic-----and I haven't either

I did a little searching and found that Fulton Armory has them for $6.95 each.  Much better than the $12.00 SAW wants for them.

And once you'r done with the battle that you so hastily needed to unfaq your trigger guard, it'll bend back whereas the plastic will need relacement.  I had one of the plastic bastards break on one of my Bushmasters after about 2 minutes in a rack on an ATV, no plastic for me! (Cept my Glock of course)

Hell, the only battle I've done since 1956 has been with one or another of my sequential wives; and they used words not guns

I like the plastic trigger guards...

I've sanded the 90 degree corners down so that posses less resistance, laugh all you want, to my fingers as I'm nestled up to my rifle.    I primarily use my AR15s for varmint shooting or for long range work and when I'm behind a rifle for upwards of 4-5 hours it begins to grate on my nerves.

I know it sounds dumb, but I've done this on 3 out of my 4 ARs, the 4th gun(an Armalite AR10) has a metal trigger guard and whenever I shoot it as my hand slides into position and my trigger finger goes into position I CAN feel the difference.

I went with Steve @ Adco.  The Rock River ones he has are aluminum.  They sell for $5.00 each.
