I have been noticing a number of posts about broken or bent bolt stops. Most of these seem to be coming from the kit vendors. Is this really a widespread problem or are we just hearing about a few isolated lemons. What kind of damage can a failed bolt stop cause?I have four Model 1 sales rifles and I am considering replacing the stops with Bushmaster bolt stops. |

Bend/bening bolt catch will not cause any damage to the gun. If you think about it it does the opposite from the force/stress point of view. Since it is bending it is absorbing the shock therfore prevents any damage to other parts or components. Is might cause the bolt to get wedges and be pain to separate the upper and lower, tho. halik |

Yes, it's true... I have seen 5 Model 1 kits bending the bolt stops causing the bolt not to lock back when the magazine is empty. You can take them off and file them down and it will work right again. I replaced one with a Bolt Catch from Tapco, same thing happened again after 100 rounds. So I am assuming they hav ethe same supplier on thos. |
