I have a Bushy Carbine with the Mini-Y. It is horribly loud. I don't care to reduce muzzle flash or reduce muzzle rise as much as I care to preserve what hearing I have left. I really don't want to wait till the AWB sunsets to get a birdcage type supperssor It is a postban rifle so the Mini-Y is supposed to be perminatly attached. From what I understand, it is pinned and welded. Are there any gunsmiths or companies that can replace this with something quieter (for the shooter)? Of course they would need the ability to pin and weld to remain postban legal. Anyone have price and/or contact info? Is it just cheaper to buy a new barrel? |

ok i got a 16inch chrome LINED RRA barrel, when thesunset comes, iwould want to shorten the barrel to 14.5 and add the FS to make it 16inchs total with the preban front sight post assembly, im guessing that would be Shorten Pre-Ban: Shorten & attach flash hider $60.00 Swap FSB: post to pre ban sight base switch $74.67 plus the price of the flash hider? any problems with shortening the chrome lined barell or would i be better off just getting a new 14.5 barrel w/ pre ban sight post and install the FH?

Thanks for the info and links. Now, Adco has a postban Military Style Break, a Tactical Break and LE Compensator. Anyone know which one of these are the quietest for the shooter? Anybody have a favorite from one of these? So it looks like this is what I will be spending: Remove Muzzle Device: ie Bushmaster and Armalite Brakes $56.00 Attach your muzzle device: Permanent Installation $20.00 Install new barrel: On your current upper $59.33 Cost of new muzzle device: $35.00 _____________________________________ Equals $170 |

If you are sending your complete upper the brake install would fall under: Muzzle Brake Installed: includes cutting&threading barrel $75.00 The brake can be removed/installed without removing the barel from the upper. The "Attach your muzzle device: Permanent Installation $20.00" if for those who send me theyr devices - some of which are DAMN hard to drill and tap. HTH |
