[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Fake KAC componets?

Are there any known fake RIS units floating around? How can you tell the difference between them? Anybody got any pics of the fake units? The reason I ask is I have a RIS unit with no rail numbers. I was told that it is a very old unit. It mounts up very solid. The onl KAC marking is on the heat sheild of the lower unit.

I think yours is original consider the KAC markings stamped on the heat shield. I have no idea why no rail numbers though.

I'm fairly certain the Airsoft crowd has indeed procured a faux RIS/RAS handguard system...as well as every other device normally found on these fine rifles. Aimpoints, ACOG's, nade launchers etc etc.

I HAVE A '95 VINTAGE KNIGHT'S M4 RIS PROTOTYPE, MACHINED FROM BILLET. IT WAS SHIPPED TO ME WITHOUT EVEN A HEAT SHIELD INSTALLED [WHICH I NEVER MISSED, BTW]. BUT, IT WAS PROPERLY NUMBERED. IT ALSO HAS THE KNIGHT'S LOGO AND COMPANY ADDRESS LASER ETCHED INSIDE IT.
