I have a friend that no longer has an AR, but still has a M4 adjustable stock. I am asking this because I don't want it all the out, and it's free. Is it legal for me to pin the stock in place myself? Oh yeah, it's a post-ban rifle.

You could pin it but if you already have it I would wait until Sept. and see the outcome of the ban maybe going away. If it does, you won`t need to pin it!

RRA makes them which sell for about $65 online, and I would also have to agree that it would be worth the wait.

I would just wait. just get something to hold ya over to september and then when that day comes, just buy a complete new rifle with all the "evil features"
