i am wanting to assemble a tactical m4 clone for the sept. extravaganza. i thought of an m4 profile for my barrel. the only advantage other than the weight reduction to me is the mounting of an m203. i have no plans for one so the cut in the barrel is useless to me. i am looking at the complete LMT m4 upper or the LMT upper receiver and an RRA m4 barrel. i noticed the LMT barrel is thin under the guards and the RRA is thick. how does this translate as far as accuracy goes? it seems to me the LMT would whip more in rapid fire and yield greater shot dispersion. which would be a better set-up? complete LMT or LMT receiver and RRA m4 barrel? both are 5.56 and chrome lined (RRA as an option.the setup ia am shooting for, pun unintentional, is a bushmaster lower, complete VLTOR standard collapsible stock, either KAC ris or daniels defense 7.0, dieter foregrip, arms # 40 buis, and a eotech or aimpoint. does that sound decent? i also want one of the LMT enhanced bolt/carrier combos. just because i like it, not sure of the advantage over standard. i want good accuracy and the extra weight is not an issue as my bushy shorty sports an h-bar. confused and undecided. thanks to all for looking/responding. p.s.-if you have an other suggestions on the set-up listed i am looking forward to opinions. |

I don't see a big problem with the "Gov" type lighter profile under the handguards. The military uses them on burst and full auto all the time. Haven't heard of any catastrophic failures????? But if you like the HBAR carbine barrel, you may need to change/modify the barrel extension to accept the M4 feed ramps on the LMT M4 stripped upper receiver. Kurts Kustom would know, or ADCO, they work alot with custom configured M4 feedramped uppers. But I do know one thing....the rifle does sound decent! |
