| Can someone confirm if this will work. I want to get an M4 upper and use it with the lower reciever from my Colt MT6601. Most of the ones I see are Bushmaster....will these fit on my lower and will my Colt bolt assembly work in the Bushmaster upper? I'm hoping to be able to just pick up an upper, drop in my Colt charging handle and bolt, and shoot. Anyone else done this, or know if it can be done? |

Yes, it will work. One caveat: it is best to dedicate a bolt and carrier to a specific rifle; the parts "marry" in time to one another. Switching back and forth can create uneven or premature wear on these parts and the locking lugs / barrel extension. However, many users switch bolts and bolt carriers and have no problems. To recap, as long as your Colt is of recent manufacture (4-5 years old), then you shouldn't have any trouble mating a Bushmaster upper to the rifle. If your rifle is older and of the "large hole" variety, you'll need an adapter pin (available from Bushmaster and other manufacturers). HTH, Brewer |

Brewer is correct. The only possible incompatibility is if your lower uses the larger-sized pivot pin that Colt used on most pre-ban rifles. If the pivot pin diameter matches the takedown pin diameter (.250"), then you're good to go. If it uses a larger pin for the pivot pin, then you need an adapter to use a mil-spec-sized upper. The best of these is the one www.cdnninvestments sells. -Troy |
