Does anyone have any experience with the Tubb Carrier weight system?
Are there any suitable(cheaper) alternatives?

I do beleive the extra weight is beneficial, especially in carbines and when shooting M855.
The CWS is nice, but slightly complicates take down. I tend to prefer the weight system used by armforte, but that is a much more expensive system and the topic of another discussion.

What would be your purpose in using the CWS?

I'd be using it for service rifle competition and in a 7.62x39 carbine to help cushion the buffer.
