I just installed a sling mount and had to take off my stock. I am not sure how the retainer that holds the buffer in place goes back in the gun. What holds the retainer and spring in the hole? I hope this makes sense, please help this gun is brand new and never fired and I cant wait much longer.
Thanks

The buffer retainer and spring are held in place by the buffer tube/receiver extension.  As the buffer tube is screwed into place, push down on the buffer retainer and spring, the shoulder of the buffer retainer is caught under the buffer tube holding it in place... Be sure to properly tighten the buffer tube or it could back out while firing, releasing the buffer retainer and spring...

How the heck did you get the buffer tube off without the buffer retainer/spring shooting across thr room if you didn't know how the retainer was held in by the buffer tube?

I just slowly unscrewed it and held on tight.
Oh the retainer, I took the buffer tube off while the gun was still assembled.
