I was wondering if it was worth the extra money to replace my standard BM bolt carrier with a schrome plated on or not?

IMHO, no. The cost/benefit number is too high.

I like the chrome because they are very easier to clean....I would rather have a chrome bolt then carrier...both would be my choice.

Probably not worth the $, but that didn't stop me!  [:P]

I have a LBC chrome bolt and carrier and I love it.  It is very easy to clean up.  A squirt or two or CLP, a couple of wipes, presto--good as new.  Carbon buildup doesn't happen.

The LBC unit comes with a titanium firing pin as well.  I can't tell any difference, but it is supposed to be better.

We just started selling the Young Machine hard chrome bolt and carrier units.  No only easy to clean but the machining is damn well beautiful.
*Young Machine makes the LBC bolt carriers.

I have a chrome bolt and carrier- honestly worth every penny. Simply because of carbon reasons. The carbon won't stick on Chrome. Easy to clean up as well.

IMO, better to spend your money on other higher priority accessories and upgrades.  If you have already completed your other upgrades, then get the chrome - it's easier to clean.  All chrome carriers are not created equal.  The nicest chrome job I have is the LBC, which has additional benefits of enhanced design (equals M16 carrier weight, extended firing pin hood, increased bearing surface, artful machining, etc.).  If you are the kind of guy who has to have mags on your car instead of standard wheels, then you will want the chrome - but like the regular wheels, the standard carrier works just fine.
