After nearly one year of reading all of your posts, I have cone to the conclusion that the majority of  the people here on AR15.com have quite an arsenal, some of you in fact, quite impressive. (MY HAT GOES OFF TO YOU)
With our beloved country in such disarray these days, and our constitutional rights on the verge of being ripped away from us, I understand  why most of you are trying to grab every black rifle in sight along with their overpriced add on toys. My question is, what about AMMO,GUN PARTS FOR REPAIR, FOOD SUPPLIES, AND SO ON? So you have 8 AR15 rifles, and around  60 GI 30 rd. mags, what about the ammo?  When the time finally comes and they ban semi auto AW,( AND THEY WILL) the first thing BIG BROTHER is going to do is halt all civilian ammunition sales for our so called evil black rifles. I personally think our wonderful government will try and dry us out, before they come for our beloved firearms. Once again, I personally think we should start stockpiling our ammunition, and for those of you that haven't started reloading yet, I strongly urge you to give it a second thought. OK, thats enough of me, what about you? What is your opinion on this????????????????

Decaf man, decaf.

On that note, .223 is considered a legitimate hunting round (it goes in guns that aren't so scary) so they aren't likely to ban ammo.

EDIT: I smell a [:K]

Why does everyone cry troll as soon as somone asks a question that might be contriversial.

Just because somone has not been on the board for long (BTW, welcome to the board BeerBellyBo) why do we assume that they only mean trouble.

Good grief.

To answer your Question as bes I can, BBB,I agree that somewhere down the road we will have a big fight (political or physical I do not know) for our firearms. I think that it is good to prepare, but not to go to an extreme. Just prepare for what you can concieveably use. Try the Survival forum for more info.

Beerbellybo...The term "arsenal" means different things to different people. One mans' (or womans) arsenal is anothers gun collection. Anti-gun liberals call anything over one gun an "arsenal" because you are now talking plural. Watch how the media handles a gun confiscation for domestic abuse. A bird gun, a twenty two, an old cap-and-ball is an "arsenal" of firearms. Drop a semi-auto AR15 or AK47 and its elevated to "arsenal of full automatic assault weapons". So in that light, no matter how many firearms we may have, someone will call it an arsenal. So what? Thats the beauty of America. As long as we remember to protect our country come election time and not pull the wrong lever because at the time we may have a hair up our butt. As far as ammo and spare parts? Don't worry about it. We're Americans. We know how to solve those little problems. Done it before, can do again. Welcome.

PLUPSMACK,
Don't ever underestimate our UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT. They can, and will, do as they please. And for your statement about the .223 hunting rifles and their ammo, I'm going to have to say the majority wins on this one. The number of .223 semi auto AW is far greater than the number of .223 hunting rifles. Therefor, why would they even consider taking that chance that. It would be much easier for them to discontinue it's sale, rather than  worry if it's going to get into the hands of us black rifle owners. And it won't just be .223, more than likely it will also be 50 BMG,12ga 20ga, and .308 . And I'm sure most handgun calibers will soon follow.( I hope I'm though.)

Start stockpiling ammo, etc?  Yes, if you have not already figured that out.  During the first Gulf War primers pretty much dried up.  I will never get caught like that again.  Watch-Six

My preparations for SHTF scenarios are my own business and I'm always leary of others who ask "Whatcha got?" without first volunteering the same information about themselves.

Beerbellybo: I think that you've got the wrong idea about most people at AR15.com having a "arsenal". Personally, I look at the firearms I own as my "collection"--I didn't acquire those weapons in case the NWO takes over the country; rather, I did it because I like to shoot a wide variety of weapons.

Furthermore, you're making some pretty big assumptions about the US government and what it MIGHT DO.

I'm not calling you a troll, but your comments have the potential to be flame-bait.

Agreed, I personally don't have an arsenal, but I do enjoy firearms... [;)]  I don't see a troll here, I see some justifiable questions...

A bit of healthy paranoia can be a good thing.  I do believe that the .gov will get around to our beloved .223/5.56 ammo sooner than we think.  Considering that Lake City civilian sales could disappear with the wave of the Magic Presidential Pen, it should set in the back of our minds that the whole AWB issue could be rendered mute by simply removing certain types of ammo from the market.  The recent sale at Wholesale Hunter was a welcome opportunity to do some serious stocking and I hope many did just that.

Bulk ammo sales or online sales could be curtailed, high sin taxes imposed, or certain calibers could be outright banned from sale... If they can't get your firearms one way, the liberal agenda will be adjusted to get them another.

Well i dont consider mine an "arsenal", i do have some rounds in storage, not a whole lot, just about a 1000rnds for the AR, 1000 for the AK, and about 750 for the CZ. This isnt because i think TEOTWAWKI is gonna happen soon, i do it cause its cheaper in bulk.

Thats bulk?  I thought 1000 ronds was a box.  They always give me 5000 rounds when ever I ask for five boxes[bow]

Some ammo actually comes in 500 round boxes; I don't know why because then you have to buy several boxes. Maybe some people can't carry a 1K box.

It did don on me a few months ago that I had all these black guns but probably not enough spare parts, mags, and ammo. I've fixed the majority of that problem though. A few more cases of ammo. can't hurt though. If the AW ban is reknewed - it wouldn't hurt to have enough spare mags for the next few decades. Don't be like some of the folks who currently own some rare Valmet and can't find magazines anywhere - nevermind hi-cap mags. I'd rather pay current preban prices now then risk paying several hundred bucks a mag down the road.

Hey Smith, lets not knock the Valmet owners. Its tough enough. Who needs an AWB. Here in MA we have Reilly. Right?
