You can also increase ROF by decreasing the bolt carrier assembly mass and fiddling with the op spring strength. This is often done in competiton-only IPSC/3Gun-type rifles. Less reciprocating mass upsets the rifle less and faster bolt operating means you can reacquire the sight picture sooner. -z |
