New guy looking for some info. I just purchased this AR from a guy that I work with. I think that I made a hell of a deal. Lets see what you guys think. It is a flat top with a 20" heavy barrel, carry handle, scope mount. The lower has the bushy emblem with Mod XM15-E2S. The barrel marks are B MP 5.56 NATO H-BAR. Chamber ,barrel and overall looks new. Will try and post pics. Any info will be very helpful. I picked it up for 500.00 with 6 mags. 1 more ? I have a Springfield 4-14x56 3rd Generation Government Model, Illum, Bullet drop comp Range finder that I am thinking of mounting on this rifle. Thinking of trying my hand at Med Range shooting. How well will this scope perform on this type of set-up?
Thanks

I bought the same rifle you did.  And just the rifle was $850.00 brand new, and I think I got a pretty good deal.  Its a good rifle.

Have fun and be safe, make sure to post some pics.

Edited To Add:

As far as the scope goes.  Most of Springfield optics, all but one ar two, are made for 7.62mm which means the drop compensator will be off unless you have on of the 5.56mm Springfield Scopes.

Good deal.  You can probably expect to get 1" groups with decent ammo.

The BDC on scope may track 75/77 loads if 1/9 twist can stabilize bullet.? -Justin

It came with 2 Bushy 10 round with green followers, 2 blued 20 round no markings with green followers and 2 blued 30 round with no markings with green followers. From the sounds of it I really must be a Lucky Bastard :) Thanks for all of the input.

Excellent deal on an excellent rifle, congratulations.  However the blued mags with no markings sound like they may be a problem for you.  That description fits the dreaded el-cheapo type of mag that has caused more problems with feed and function in the AR than all other mag types combined. Your bud may have sold you the rifle because he was having problems with it.  If he did, the joke is on him. Get yourself some USGI mags, fill them with quality ammo and have a ball with your fine new shootin iron!  Shoot safe.

Look over on the Equipment Exchange for mags.
Labelles are very good & slick.
The Brit mags are a bit heavy (the uncoated gray ones), but function fine.
