[ARCHIVED THREAD] - heavy trigger pull on first round?

A friend of mine put together a lower and something funny is going on. I've been fiddling with it this morning and the first trigger pull after you disengage the safety is like 500 pounds, but after that it's normal. The safety looks to be disengaging properly. I think it's a DPMS parts kit. I'm confused.

You know what I do when someone gives me a part they've assembled that doesn't work? I take it apart and put it back together again.
