Our local MilSurp match has a carbine class, shot at 50 yards... I have a very early (serial no. less than 115) A2 govt carbine with 1/7 twist.... lightweight bbl...Sierra, since I have 52g match bullets on hand that I use in 22-250 said to try them..If they will hold together in that fast twist they may be all right. I also have a pound of Alliant's new 10X powder, has anyone tried it in an AR?? Just wondering if anyone had a good combination to use for this rifle/and 50 yard range??

use something heavyer than 65 grain with 1:7 twist.

A good 50 yard would be 1:12-1:9 twist. 1/7 is used for heavy bullets long range.

I would just use some Q3131a or XM193, the 55 grain FMJ will work just fine in the 1/7 twist barrel at any range.
