I had my AR-15 refinished (Wussified :D) silver to match my IPSC open pistol using the Moly-Resin finish. Does anyone know the reputation of this finish and how it will hold up? I have read good things about it but all of it is from the people who make the product. I do know that this finish comes on a lot of FALs and since people who have those arent complaining I must be in good shape right? The reciver on this gun looks like the one on my gun. Thankfully thats the only part.  Ill probably post pictures in the picture thread. |
| I had a Preban Oly done by John Norrell. What I got back looked just like a NIB Colt. He did alot of clean up taking out dings, forging marks etc. on the lower. Definitley a good job!! ( I had the whole gun done in SOCOM black) Its been about a year since, I shoot 500+ rds a month, and it still looks damn near the same as when I got it back from him. But, all of my ARs are "safe queens", so I am extra careful not to ding anything to begin with.. John |
| I hope that moly coating is good, because I'm having an M16 refinished in it as I type. I sent it off for some minor stuff, and I wanted to have it re-anodized while it was there. Unfortunately, the place that has it no longer anodizes. So Norrel's moly coat was my only choice. |
