I noticed on rounds that were chamberd then unloaded from my rifle that every one of them had a small scratch on the bullet.    I don't know why my chamber would have an obstruction scratching the bullets.    My rifle is very accurate but I'm still concernd as to what can cause this? and what are the effects on your shooting?

I drew the scratch on the bullet so you can get a clear picture of what I'm talking about.   The scratchs aren't very deep but they are noticable.

From past replies to this question my answer is this is normal. Both my ar's do this when i eject a unfired round.

The scratches are from the feed ramps if the two are sharp, But by the line it looks more from the right lug (ejection side) as you drew the loaded round out of the chamber.  The ejector will push the tip of the round to the right, and then the bullet tip will scrap that lug.

To see if it's the ramps, charge a round form the mag, then as you draw the round back out, keeping the tip from scraping off the right barrel extension lug.

I had a Bushmaster that did this.  At that time I brought it to a Gunsmith and he polished the feed ramps.  One of the first things that I do to new uppers is take the barrel off and polish the feed ramps and chamber.  It should not affect your bullet that much for the common shooter, but it irritates the piss out of me.
