I was watching Predator (Arnold and the alien?) the other night. There was this one character that had an AR with a shotgun mounted underneath kinda like you would a M-203 Launcher. As usual when I watch the movie I say to myself, "that's pretty cool". Well I am pulling the guns out of the safe and come across my old Mossberg and then one of my AR's and the mind starts working. I pull out the ruler, etc.. Now first and foremost, would this be legal? Second, how would you mount it securely? Practicality wise will it be something I would ever use? Probably not, but it would be cool nonetheless:) Thanks

There is one available.  Can't think of who makes it though.

Sounds like what is called a "Masterkey". I haven't seen one in awhile.

Here, cold link:  http://www.kitsune.addr.com/Firearms/Shotguns/Knight_Masterkey_Shotgun.htm

I used to see a Ad in Shotgun news magazine, (about 10 years ago)

I guess it would require a tax stamp, because the add showed a 12g. pump that ended at the M16 barrel length.

I think (?but i am not sure?) it mounted in front off the bayo lug.

I think that these are considered as two seperate weapons, and the shotgun is short barreled. [:(]

Cool setup though !
