I've got a leupold m8 6X laying around thought
I might mount it on my new colt m4 flattop.
Would one of those one piece scope mounts with
built in 1" rings get it high enough to clear
the front sight? If not a good idea let me know
what to use. Thanks

A Armalite EX0027 one piece mount puts my 40mm scope bell just under 1/2" above the freefloat handguard. I have a shaved front sight so I can't answer that question. Hope this helps.

The Armalite 1-pc mount will place the scope at the correct height for a normal cheekweld. With a 6x scope, even though it (the scope) will be right behind the front sight, it (the front sight) won't even be visible.
