can anyone tell me where I can find out what the maker of my upper is. It has what looks like an A and a F put side by side next to the rear sight (A2)
The Bigger Hammer list is WAY out of date. The markings on your upper identify the forgeing contractor, in this case [url=alcoa.com]Alcoa Forge[/url].

Are there any barrel markings fwd. of the front sight housing? Barrel markings are far more crucial; they can indicate manufacturer, twist ratio, c.l. or non-c.l., barrel construction, etc.

No markings anywhere on the barrel that i can find.
