Got my used Genghis upper in the mail last week. Looks great, feels great. M4 Barrel contour is my first of this kind. Interesting look. I thought the 5.56 bullet made small holes in the paper. The 5.45 made perfect little circles that somehow seemed less ragged than the 5.56. Maybe its all in me head. After a few test shots, it made 1 inch groups at 25 yards with a 4x scope. I assume with a more talented shooter, it would do better. the CQB stock did not lend much to the scoped upper being an easy shooter. at 8 cents a round it will do just fine. Need to get a Trijicon Reflex and some flip up sights. |

I figured out my scope mount was loose. I ditched the scope and traded it for some DPMS flip up sights. I am going back to the range on Friday, and we will see. I bought mine by posting an ad on the equipment exchange, and looking around on it. Do searches on the auctions every couple of days for "Alexander Arms" You can never find it under Genghis for some reason. It shoots great! |

It came with a 10 rounder (of course). (Looks like one of the new heavy 20 rd LEO mags with a burr in it so it cant compress past 10 rounds.) I use USGI 5.56 20 rd and 30 rd mags with black followers. As long as I load them 18 or 27, they work great. I cant wait till I can buy some new mags next year. Untill then, I am gonna buy some new springs...then maybe I can load to capacity. |

i hate to ask, how much? i've really got the hots for one of these. how did the iron site shooting go? What really gets me going is the "30% greater wound size" statement i read somewhere. i'm wondering if this would make a more effective AR platform for hunting. these are supposed to have almost no recoil. this should equal fast follow up shots. put all this together and i'm excited. thanks, CD |

I paid $475 used, and can shoot some pics at the range tomorrow. (pardon the pun) Since they use regular ole 5.56 mags, why pay for a special "AR-74" lower? I cant see why I would want to. The recoil, report, and muzzle rise are all about half of what I get with my 5.56 upper. |
