Who builds the Canadian C7 Stock and where might I find one?

I really like the A1 length but would like to have the A2 butt plate. I know Cav Arms builds them but I’d be more interested in a military contract manufacturer.

Thanks, J

While I don't have a supplier for the Canadian job, the A2 buttplate fits the US made trapdoor type A1 stocks just fine.  Just unscrew the old smooth type, and put the checkered one on. You can get a stripped A2 type, 'cause the A1 trapdoor also fits the A2 plate[:D]

But if you should find a source for the Canadian stocks, hope you'll post it.

Diemaco makes the rifle, but I do not know who makes the stock set. You should probably cantact Kevin_B. He is the authority on anything related to the Canadian military or firearms.

While we have no official military contracts, our plastic is good enough for these guys to name a few:

SSG Michael Blough of the16th Engineer Battalion 1st Armored Divsion:

Pilot Dan Starnes of the US Border Patrol

These are just the ones that have sent in pictures.

Others include:
5th Special Forces Group
US Navy SEALs
1/7 CAV
numerous individual purchases by Soldiers, Marines, and Airmen deploying to the Sandbox.

FYI the A2 buttplate will work on the Cav Arms C1 stock.

AFAIK, Deimaco is not allowed to sell parts in the US because of its licensing agreements with Colt and they probably haven't bothered to be registered with the US Department of State under ITAR or BATFE for that reason either.

Calm down sinistral[:D] Nobody is downing your products.  I would have bought them myself, for my M16 and M16A1 forgeries, only the rear sling swivel slot isn't "original", and the M4gery type uses the commercial diameter hole, not the military/Colt diameter.

By all accounts, and my own limited inspection of other guys rifles w/your stuff, it looks good to me.

I know you said that you didn't really want Cav Arms stuff, but you have two options:

A1, swap out the buttplate.

C1 from Cav.

I would go with the second.

Then again, there are the plethora of aftermarket stocks. I have a Vltor that I like.

I didn't take it as a down, just doing my job to inform the members here that though we do not have government contracts, assorted government employees still do use our stocks sets. [;)] Government contracts are a nightmare in terms of the rules placed upon the company supplying the parts, which is the reason we are not pursuing them directly...

The C1 is better structurally and materially than any of the other A1/A2 stocks on the market.  30% glassfilled nylon is a very strong material and chemically resistant.  The trap door compartment and buffer tube hole are formed in the mold, not after the fact with foam.  It can accept any standard buttplate and trap door, and the sling swivel can be set to right or left in addition to straight down.

If someone is going for the straight out of the box military issue look, our stocks are not the right choice.  We initially called the C1 stock the A1, but changed the name in part because people assumed it was a true A1 stock they could make their SP1 or M16A1 look new again with.
