I just recieved a 458 Socom upper and placed it on a DPMS lower reciever.  Took it out to shoot it and I am getting a double tap each time I pull the trigger.  Do I have to replace anything else on my lower for the upper to function properly?  The lower works fine with a .223 upper.  Thanks

No, nothing needs to be replaced.  However, since the .458 SOCOM does recoil a bit more than the .223, I suspect therein lies the problem.  A worn trigger/disconnector/sear would be the most likely suspects.  Has your rifle received a "trigger job" of any sort?  You may need to replace any parts that were worked over.  While OK for the light .223, the .458 may be a bit much and be causing the malfunction.

I'd suspect the trigger group is the culprit as well.  Maybe swap a NIW one in and see if it solves the issue.

You should not have to do this, but maybe yours is worn a bit.....

I would recommend you don't go cheap with the FCG (Fire Control Group).  The .458 does stress the system so high quality parts are necessary.  I would recommend a FCG from one of the big three.

Thanks for the replies...

The trigger group should not be worn very much on this as it has only had a couple of hundred rounds through it.  It was a kit from model 1 sales on my lower.  I will try a new trigger assembly--any brands I should consider?

Armalite, Bushmaster, or Colt.....maybe RRA single stage, or DPMS single stage.

Yep...A, B or C...

I'm running Bushmaster with no problems.
