I am int process of building my third gun and I must admit, the only thing that turns me on about the stainless barrels are the looks. I realize that having a stainless barrel chrome-lined may seem like either over kill or defeating the purpose, but I was wondering if a chrome-lined stainless barrel actually exists, and if so, where could I find one? Whatever barrel I go with, I want it to be able to take the abuse if I decide to bump-fire and still clean up easy at the end of the day. Thanks.

No such thing.  The process of applying chrome to stainless steel isn't compatible with evenly applying chrome to the bore of a rifle barrel.

Will stainless stand up to the same kind of abuse as a chrone-lines barrel as far as rapid-fire? What about life expectancy of stainless compared to chrome-lined?

Stainless barrels are easier to machine very consistantly, which means more accuracy, but they don't hold up as well under rapid fire.  That's why you find stainless barrels on guns that NEED to be very accurate, and chrome-moly steel barrels on guns that need to last with high rates of fire.  You wouldn't take a Cadillac to a race track, nor a Winston Cup car for a nice Sunday drive.  Each has their place, but are out of place in the others' role.

Thanks for the info Troy. Very helpful, as I think I will stick with the chrome-lined barrels.Easy to clean and durable. Thanks again.
