This gun started out as a basic fixed sight blue Kimber. I bought it used for $500.
I checkered it, blended an S&A magwell, fitted  CMC extreme beavertail, Ed Brown Ambi saftey, Wilson trigger, STI sear.
Then I sent it to Ken Hallock for B-Mar lo-mount rear sight.
The sweat of my hand eats blued and parkerized guns, so I sent it to METALIFE. that stuff is wonderfull.

I hand checkered this with a 20 line per inch checkering file, availible from brownells.

"Fell Off The Truck"...

I absolutely love your Bushmaster shorty.  (Except the old rear site.)

Something about those CAR15 5.5" flash suppressors make those rifles just so bad-ass looking!  However, the barrel length is really only 11 inches or so.  Correct?

Anyway, bad ass weapon you have there!

I really like it, the contour is perfect for my hand and the texture at first I wasn't too interested, but it turn out to be an excellent addition. The battery compartment contains two AA lithium for my 552 or batteries for my Aimpoint.  it is absolutely worth the price of the ticket.

I find it amusing that all these people with SIR systems have nothing but a forward grip and a flashlight on them.  Seems kind of pointless to me to spend an extra $500 to add all that weight just for the sake of "looking cool".  Does anyone actually take full advantage of their SIR system?

Man, I don't know where you've been pricing things, but the average going rate for a SIR is $378, but you do make a valid point.

I plan on purchasing a #46 Slimline SIR for my M4gery, when I pay off the cards for the other purchases.  I do plan on, when the money is there, for more than just a verticle grip and a light, but that's in the future....

[#47]
Poster boy, I think you dont quite get it. What else would you mount to the SIR? A laser, another light? What? And even if you did, how would this be taking more advantage of the SIR. The advantages of the SIR are that it free floats the barrel (which improves accuracy potential considerably), it cools better than anything else on the market, you have rails only where you want them and not where you dont, and that because of that, there is no need for pannels to cover up uncomfortable aluminum rails. None of these advantages really have anything to do with mounting more and more gear on them. Plus, mounting a forward grip alone is reason enough to get a SIR or something like it. Try mounting one to a non free float system and see how sloppy it is or will get. Also watch how mounting a sling or a forward grip to a non free float system like the SIR will have the tendency to pull your shots off. Heck, I've built rifles for people who have nothing on the SIR at all. The advantages you gain with a SIR dont necessarily have to have anything to do with the mounting rails on the handgaurds. I admit they do help when and if it comes time to mount gear, but the SIR offers plenty advantages without having to mount a single thing.

No, these are not all mine, but I did build them all. And by the way, they are all Airsoft. Me and SMG are in the same Airsoft Owners Association.

If you want a free floating barrel, pay $100 for a FIRSH instead.  The panels are just fine and comfortable enough.  You'll save hundreds of dollars, and won't add nearly as much weight.  IMHO a SIR is only useful if you plan on adding _everything_... a forward grip, flashlight, laser, AND night vision equipment.  Otherwise it's just a waste of weight and money.
