my dad has a colt post ban 16" whith a flattop upper that has the m4 above gas tube. whats up with that? i had a colt 6920 m4 upper that wasent marked with the m4,

All the Colt 6920's should be marked M4 above the gas tube. Some of the M4 stampings are so light you can barely see the markings.

this is not a 6920 upper. it is a post ban rifle he bought with a hbar barrel
