Ok I need your thoughts on this. I am picking up a new Armalite and was wondering if I need to follow any procedures to break in the unit.

Assuming the barrel is chrome lined there really is no break in.  Sure the action will smooth out with some use but that's all the breaking in it will see or need.  Just make sure you clean it and relube it before you shoot it for the first time.

Clean and lube it real good and just shoot it.

Per Bushmaster, chrome lined barrel should have around two hundred rounds put through it to polish out the chroming. That'll make it even easier to clean the barrel. After the initial cleaning, any barrel cleaning will prolong the break-in process. Happy shootin'.
