Hey fellas, somebody posted here a while back on the proper way to mount SWAN lever thrown accessories. I believe the thread may have also referred to a SWAN mount failure which was apparently an uncommon occurrence.

Something about moving the levered mount fore or aft in the Pic groove before actually throwing the lever to secure it.

I think the gist was that this kept from causing undue wear or loosening.

Can somebody please link me to that thread or re-post the info? Couldn't hit it with the search function.

Thank you very much.

The correct procedure is to push the sight/mount towards the front of the rifle before clamping the lever.

This way the square rod in the bottom of the mount is resting against the front of the picatinny rail groove and cannot move during recoil.

If you are using a forward grip with a throw lever, reverse the process and mount the grip to the rear of the rail before securing the lever.

Thank you too, sir. Just happen to have an M900 going on this one.
