the af is going to the m-4 especially to the sec forces.  there have been problems in afghan with it due to lack of range and the green tip bullets going right through the bad guys and not knocking them down.  i read where special forces went with some fals to get the job done.

sure the m-4 looks sexy but batteries and optics will wear out and get broken.  the A2 is just fine but a bit clunky for cqb.  but they do look sexy on tv and all of the wannabes want a civ. one which is stupid when all you are paying for is a notch on the bbl where the m203 would go.  stupid!!!!!!

What is your point, Homo?

Do you have a solution/suggestion?

USAF Security Forces are not involved in 600 yard engagements.  They are more apt to be pulling weapons in and out of vehicles and clearing buildings.  The M4 will work well for that.

"...and the green tip bullets going right through the bad guys and not knocking them down".

That sounds like an ammo choice problem, I don't understand what difference the specific model of AR-15 has to do with it?
