ANYONE HAVE ONE YET? FOR 1/3RD THE PRICE OF A RAS, JUST WONDERING HOW THEY HELD UP, HOW TIGHT OF A FIT IS IT?

Got one last week from Lippy (thanks Bob!).  Fit is TIGHT (so tight I had to take a rubber mallet and tap the delta ring back on) and my Eotech goes on it just fine with no problems.

hows the finish and quality of it? installation easy?

We have them in stock and they are great.  They are a tighter fit that standard handguards but are still easy to install.  Finish is great, and the quality is top notch.  Try this link for pics.

damn they look pretty good, are they sturdy enought for a forward grip and optics? or would u recommend the RAS or RAS II for optics?

Anyone try putting the RAS panels on them? I'd like to see pics with them on.The stock M44's are just plain ugly.

CMMG on some of those pictures on your site you have a sling holder thru the front site do you sell these and does it pull on the front site and is it ambi? I also want to know if RAS panels will work on the Fobus44?

I just got mine and I am impressed. I most likely will not be useing optics on them but I think it would work. Very tight. However if optics is your main reason for getting rails and not just the need for forward grip and light attachments, then I would still reccomend RAS or similar. These seem fine but the heat and plactic and vibration most likely will not make a good combination for the long run.
But they do have a lifetime replacement against failure.
I have not heard yet about the RAS pannels but I will find out asap.

I have a feeling that they don't because this question has been asked several different places and CMMG dosen't answer?? But I will try as soon as I can get my hands on some pannels.

They (the panels) should fit, but I just haven't been able to run any down yet.  Don't worry, I'm not dodging you.  :D

So [s]would[/s] could an ARMS #38 be mounted?

I know the Fobus doesn't have the mounting holes, but if it could work.....hmmm [:\]

I got a set along with a First Samco foregrip. I am very happy with them. The handguards are tight, I also used a wooden mallet to get mine in. The grip is comfortable and stable. I am not going to mount optics on mine either, but I would think it could work. I also like the looks of mine. I presently have mine on a Bushmaster M4orgery and that is not the look I want on that particular rifle, but They will look great on whatever I end up leaving them on. This is my next big AR15 mod. to work on. I now have a RAS II on one rifle and the First Samco handguards on another. A little bit of overtime and I will get a Surefire 900 series light that I can use on several different rifles.

Ok, I tried a panel from my KAC RAS II on the First Samco M44 handguard. No, it won't work, at least not well. Of course the panel will slide over the rail, but the panel from my RAS II was one "section" too long for the M44. Also the locking thing on the KAC panel didn't lock into the M44 rail.
I am still not sure what the attraction is to the KAC panels ? I don't have a lot of experience with these things; these are the only two handguard rail systems I own, I haven't had them long, and I haven't done a lot with them. I put a vertical foregrip on each rifle and have an Aimpoint on the RAS II. I really don't plan on doing anything else with them. I wanted to try the vertical foregrip and I wanted to buy a Surefire 900 series light and be able to use it on several different rifles.
I think the M44 panel system is very clean. When you have the panels on the handguard, you can't really tell that it has four rails. The panels fit completely flush.

What about the B.M.A.S. 4 Rail Rifle and Carbine Floater Forearms rail that Bushmaster is using on their Anniversary edition?  Anyone have experience with it?  I know UNICORN does!

There definitely seems to be a niche market for replacement rails for the M44.  Anyone interested in makeing a little money filling that need?

They are just as strong as the M33 handguards I have a vertical grip mounted to them and they are solid.

I don't understand the need for replacement rail covers for the M44. What is wrong with the ones that are on it ?

There is nothing wrong with them. I think they are pretty good. They stay on real good.I dont know why someone would put on the little tab covers anyway.
