Just picked up a RRA 2001 LEGP from a board member here and have a couple questions. The lower is of course marked 5.56 cal, so I assume the chamber is as well and not a .223 chamber? Is the barrel chrome lined? Looks like it is to me but I just wanna be sure. This is my first A3 type AR and when mounting my ARMS #40 it took a little persuasion to get it to slide on (via a small rubber mallet). Is this typical? What kind of sling is on this thing? I kinda like it but have no idea of the brand. |

[red]I'm not 100% sure but I believe 5.56. I know mine has no problem eating SA or Q3131A.[/red] Is the barrel chrome lined? Looks like it is to me but I just wanna be sure. [red]Not chrome lined, unless someone changed out the barrel.[/red] This is my first A3 type AR and when mounting my ARMS #40 it took a little persuasion to get it to slide on (via a small rubber mallet). | Im sorry to have to break the news to you. But your barrel and chamber are not chrome lined. The chamber is also not 5.56, it is .223 Wylde which still isnt 5.56, but it isnt .223 SAAMI either. The ARMS #40 took some effort to put on because your rail is not made to milspec tollerances. All of these were issues some had with the 2001 LEGP. They are fine guns and look great, but I think they would have sold MANY more if they offered the 5.56 chrome lined barrel. We didnt find out about the out of spec uppers until well after people bought them and were trying to mount milspec parts to them. Some of the rails were worse than others. Some fit fine, some didnt fit at all, some were right in between. |
