I purchased an Oly Arms PCR .45 a while ago and would light to buy a 5.56 upper.I am considering either the DPMS lightweight 16 inch version or the bushmaster with a fluted 16 inch barrel. Any suggestions?? Can I attach a muzzle brake on the DPMS lightweight or is the outside diameter of the barrel too narrow. Any problems using my existing Oly Lower??

I would just get an Oly upper. I have had Colts, Bushys, and now a new Oly and it was the most accurate of the 3. All were 16" Hbars. The Oly is just as reliable as the others, and fit and finish is flawless. The Oly will have a lifetime warranty, and putting another brand upper on the Oly lower may void its warranty-I'm not sure about that-but I'd check first.

I would like to get an Oly upper, but my understanding is that they use a .223 chamber. I would like to use surplus 5.56 ammo. I would also like a chrome lined bore.

You may want to contact Olympic because I think you can get a 5.56 chambered chrome-lined barreled upper but only by special order.  Drop them an email or call them up, they are great guys to deal with.

All the new ones are 5.56 chambers except the match target types.
