[ARCHIVED THREAD] - First time at range

Well still waiting for my case of ammo. Tracking number says its here in Dallas. So looks like range today. So are there any procedures to breaking in a new ar? Should I try to site it in today or just shoot it down range. Thanks for your input

Sight it in with the santos method and shoot the hell out of it. Thats how you break it in.

If your rifle has a chrome-lined bore, follow the above advice.

OTOH, if your barrel is chrome-moly you're better served by heading over to Bushmaster's site and checking in their Technical Info or FAQ sections.
