There was a post here that shown the differences between bolt carriers. I am not having very good luck with the search engine here so I thought I would ask if anyone knows what thread it was. It had pics and discriptions and such.

Close! Good link, but the one I am referring to had, if I remember correctly, three different bolt carriers and shown a real good comparision pic from the bottom view. I am pretty sure it was a thread here on this forum... Thanks for the link at any rate.

Who made the on on the bottom and far right? Is it a newer Colt?

Yes, the "3/4 circle" bolt carrier on the right is a late model Colt. I don't personally see any difference in function but, like everyone else, I prefer the full circle carrier. I presume this new design saves a couple of pennies of machine setup time in trimming the carrier (All of the ones I've seen are obviously M16 carriers with the auto sear surface machined off). Actually, that's been true for all the Colt AR15 carriers I've seen, period--both old model and newer styles.
