Hello I have been checking out the forum for a while and am pround to say that as of today I am a pround new AR owner

I had my local set aside a post ban ar that he was going to sell on the internet. I got the tax return today and went to pick up my new gun. When I get there a gentleman was just leaving after selling a couple guns. As I waited paitently I see the owner pull a never been fired pre ban colt sporter target model out of a box. It turns out the guy had just sold it to him. I asked how much he was going to ask for it and he aid 1200. I wrote him a check and told him to put the other one on the internet. Did I get a good deal?

Hawkeye,

First, welcome to the board!

Second, it sounds like you found a sweet deal.  Way to go!  Now, what are you going to get for your second AR? [}:D]

Use some of that tax return to pony up for a membership and you can host pictures here.

Otherwise, you'll need to find an image hosting site that allows you to link to it.

Ok I didn't know that they had that here. I will have to contribute.

I do have a question. I see people refer to having a blue label and green label. What is the difference in the guns?

In general:

Green Label means rollmarked "AR-15", bayonet lug, no magazine fence and large pivot pin.

Blue Label means rollmarked "Sporter", no bayonet lug, possible large pivot pin, large fire control pins, and possible magazine fence.

And of course being Colt and all, there are a few exceptions to the above generalities.
