Does the black coating in the inside of the upper receiver (near charging handle & upper portion of bolt) wear off? If so, does anyone polish this area?

The inside of my SP1 is nice and smooth - the finish is still there. If your rifle is properly lubed and maintained it will polish itself just by firing it.
