Couple of weeks ago, I acquired a complete M16A1 upper, apparently a takoff from a weapon being converted to A2 configuration. Unit is in excellent shape, and 100% Colt---only the upper has a forge marking I haven't seen before. It's C K (for Kaiser?) Bigger Hammer does not show this for Colt production uppers, yet the piece has the Colt acceptance stamps just above and in front of the ejection port, and everything else on the unit (bolt, carrier, barrel) is Colt marked. Anybody have any info on who did the forging on this, and perhaps when it was made? |
