I just got my new Bushy last week. M4 Barrel, flat top, swan 38 9" sleeve, aimpoint soon to be added. The rifle is great, but I have discovered a flaw with the front sight. One of the rails (not sure on correct term) that the front sight post sits between appears to be larger than the other. The right rail is about 1/10 higher and larger than the other. Bushmaster advised I could send the upper back and they would change the front sight and barrel. Before I send it back, I figured I would get some input. I didn't know if I was just being toooooo anal?????

Your being too anal.  The protective ears are just there for protection - they are not used when sighting.

As long as the ears are taller than the top of the front sight - then you're good to go.

Is it obviously noticeable when you look through the rear peep?

If so, that would drive me Coo Coo!

I like the sight picture to be just right.

Well, I see that Bushie is still doing the same thing they did 15 years ago, when I bought a target weight barrel from them[:D].  Th ears were the same height, but one is significantly thicker than the other.  I've lived w/it all these years, but I sure do get tired of these companies who count on the customer to do their quality control work for them. It ain't just Bushie. They ALL seem to be in that mode these days[;D]
