Quick question.  Are the orginal Colt M4 handguards, the Bushmaster M4 type, and the Cav Arms C4 handguards the same profile?  I have the C4 ones and I swear they are a smaller dia. or at least they look that way to me.

BTW, I know the deal with the heat sheilds thanks.

The Colt M4 feature double aluminum/heatshield liner, versus most others, especially the early style, handguards are single liner. With the two halves of the handguards together, the early style version are round, the Colt M4 version are oval.

Thanks, but I already knew that.  I guess I should make myself more clear.

Are the Colt M4, bushmaster M4, and Cav Arms C4 handguards the same size, width, etc.  Or are the Colt one "bigger"?

Thanks,
James

The colts are larger.  If you want double shielded m-4 hand gaurds, then they will be Colt only.

Colt also epoxies the heatshileds into place on the new handguards, making installation of rails and the like problematic, at best, without absolutely butchering the heatshileds (trust me on that one).
