Is a SP-1 a large pin or small pin, when it comes to the fire control parts?
Is a large pin the same as standard?
Let me know

Depends what year SP1 you have.

Most have the large pin forward takedown pin, some have that and large sized trigger group holes.

You need to call Colt's historical department and pay the $150 to find out what the real deal is with your SP1.

SP1 always has the large hole. So do all the "Government Models" I've seen. Things only get confusing with the "Sporter" series after 1989 or so. Some of these have the large hole, most will have the small.

This does not take into account SP1s that have had the original upper receiver replaced with an M16A1 upper or that have been vandalized with a complete M4 upper group. These must use that furshlugginer "offset" pin that can never be tightened and must be adjusted with a screwdriver when the receivers are opened and closed back.

And no, the large pin sin't the same as standard, if by standard you mean the .255" pin used on M16s and Sporters and "Match Targets".
