I'm thinking about getting a conversion for my 16" Bushy. I've seen so far 3 types; the Ciener unit, a "Air Force?" unit with white mags, the other unit has mags that look like letter "T". I'll prob get the Ciener from Bushmaster, any thoughts on the 2 other types?

You left out the best choice, a dedicated upper.

On all the conversion kits, you stand a chance of the lead 22LR bullet clogging up the 223 gas port. Granted that you may spend a little more, but your dedicated upper will be more accurate, and you wont have to worry about gas system.

Just food for thought.

I have a Ciener and it has given nothing but good service.  I have put over 1000 rounds of the cheapest .22 ammo that WalMart sells and it has never missed a beat.

BTW  Buy some extra magazines.  You will want them later and you can never have too many.

I have the Army M261 conversion unit.  I mated it with a 1 in 14 Oly barreled upper and blocked the gas system.  Accuracy is excellent for a plinker with a .223 barrel. probably not as good as a pure .22lr upper, but alot less expensive.  Reliability has been ok, but not spactacular.  Problems mainly related to mag spring tension.  A small stretch and all was well today.  It really likes to be kept clean as well.  All in all I really like it.  For commercial availability though you would probably be better served with the ceiner kit.

Thanks for the info! If money wasn't a limiting factor I would get a dedicated upper and so on. Just looking for another "cheap" way for shooting my AR.
Now I have to make sure local indoor range will let me shoot the AR with the 22 conversion.
I also have a 22 conversion for my Kimber 45acp which extends the shooting fun!

I got the Ceiner conversion and love it.  I would think that since its the only one still in production parts and mags are still avilable.  Slowly Im piecing together a 22LR only upper.  All I need now is a barrel. I hope to have a grand total of $150 in the upper.

I shoot a Ciener in my 20" heavy match barrel Bushy and group about 3 to 4" at at 100 yards. I will get a dedicated upper some day but for now my groups are way good for cheap plinking.

Go with an allocated upper for the .22 rimfire.  Otherwise you get to much copper in your barrel for my liking.  If you do go with a kit be sure to clean it real good with solvents before you shoot .223 through it again.  .22rim AR's are fun though.
